An
Activation Check identifies the existence
of stray current being generated
by the vessel's own electrical system. With the testing equipment
connected,
the individual components of the vessel's electrical system are
activated to determine the presence of voltage leaks (stray current).
Readings are taken
at the bonding system, main DC negative buss, and propulsion system
(shafts, outdrives, or outboard motors). All the operations involved
in a
Stasis Check are also performed as a baseline for comparison purposes.
A
written report is included with each Activation Check. The report
documents the voltage potential readings, as well as, the fluctuations
caused
by each electrical circuit. Any potentially corrosive voltage shifts
are clearly
identified for corrective action. Also included, is any relevant
information
on how to better protect your vessel, and any potential hazardous
conditions
observed during the inspection.
Pricing
schedule:
Vessels up to 65' = $10.00 per ft.
Vessels over 65'= $65.00 per hour.
